Smear Campaign

Turning Shit into Gold since 2006

Fifteen years ago the Queen of Tejano music was slain by a wicked troll named Yolanda Saldivar, leaving the music world stunned and her fans forever weeping and wanting more.

Being a native of San Antonio, TX, home of Selena’s magnificent clothing boutique, it is hard not to acknowledge the passing of such a kind and gifted individual. This was my generation’s Kennedy assassination, folks. I was ten years old, sitting in the car with my mom, listening to the radio as we watched my little sister practice for T-ball regional’s when the DJ announced that the Grammy winning pop star had been killed by the president of her fan club.

It would be years later until I realized the true impact of Selena’s death, thanks to an amazing onscreen performance by Jennifer Lopez.  She inspired people with her positivity and she did it gracefully. The statue in her hometown of Corpus Christi, TX, displays the icon in a comfortable pose. Leaning against a wall, head tucked into her chest, and roses resting at her side show Selena in her purest form.

There is still a void that has not been filled since March 31, 1995, but there is consolation in knowing that Selena is up in Heaven eating Whataburger with God on a daily basis. Being the generous heart that she was, she is probably ordering up Whataburger for everyone!

To quote Billy Joel and every other cheesy asshole out there, “Only the good die young.”

R.I.P. Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, 1971-1995.

omg, selena didn’t do anything important … she sang and had a big ass. she wasn’t a doctor, she didn’t cure anything, she wasn’t a civil rights leader.

Must have missed the memo stating that the only people to be ‘blogged’ about are saints and doctors. I am almost sure you have done nothing important with your life. In between the porn and the Facebook stalking how could you find the time? Bet you don’t even have a nice ass, and in this world that is all that counts.

I don’t get why you guys are being so mean and judge mental against Selena. Have any of you ever seen her movie with Jennifer Lopez? Look at all she accomplished and she didn’t let fame go to her head. She was never fake and she always kept her feet on the ground. She truly was an amazing woman, not just with her music, but as a person as well. So please don’t be so mean against Selena. She truly is a living legend.
